in Pusztafalu:   Hotel

You can get to this dead-end village from the road connecting roads No. 3 and No. 37 between Hidasnémeti and Sátoraljaújhely. The settlement is from the 14th century. Although the village had probably been inhabited before the Mongol invasion, but the village must have been destroyed, as it was first mentioned in records in 1389 under the name Puszta-(új)-falu. The tiny village is situated in Hegyköz, in the territory of the historical county Abaúj, at the Slovakian-Hungarian border. As it had unfavourable climate, features of the ground and soil, agricultural activities were not typical here, the forest was the only way of earning people's living. In fact it is the only way today: the village is visited by tourists of the beautiful surroundings and by the participants of the forest school.
