"Pleasant experiences on the shore of Lake Fertő." A village with a population of 1,300 on Lake Fertő, 20 km from Sopron. The village is part of the Fertő-Hanság National Park and the Fertő/Neusiedlersee cultural landscape world heritage. The Ten Springs Festival is organized between 13 and 22 July 2007 and the Feasts of Hegykő are held between 4 and 5 August 2007. A major attraction of the village is the thermal bath, which is open throughout the year. Its medicinal and thermal water can mainly be used to cure locomotor disorders. The village awaits visitors with accommodation and shopping facilities of high standard. Pleasant entertainment is offered by the anglers´ lake. The cycling path around Lake Fertő crosses the village. The famous neo-Romanesque Catholic church was built in 1904. The stained-glass windows of the church and the frescoes painted by Péter Prokop are to be seen here. The statue commemorating the plague (1711) and further two sculptures, the Pieta (1720) and Saint George (1742) are all baroque works of art.
