Folk artist Ferenc Verseghy was born in 1950 in Alsónyék. He learnt pottery in Kaposvár from László Tamás, who was one of the last masters of Sárköz and the founder of habán ceramics in Hungary. He was awarded the title of Young Artist of Folklore and Artist of Applied Folklore, hundreds of his classified works were presented in Tolna, Szekszárd, Bonyhád, Budapest, Kaposvár and Szigetvár. He had exhibitions in several countries including the former Soviet Union and Belgium. At the moment he has a permanent exhibition in his house in Mözs, where the works of a weaver and a wood carver can also been seen.
