This exhibition represents a rich selection of some of the most important examples of Hungarian modern art. The material, which contains all of the important schools of the 20th century, ranges from the representatives of Nagybánya (Hollósy, Ferenczy) painting through to the great personalities (Rippl-Rónai, Gulácsy) of the turn of the 19th-20th century and the Eight (Pór, Kernstock, Berény, Czóbel, Tihanyi), while not forgetting the avant-garde artists (Breuer Marcel, Molnár Farkas, Moholy-Nagy) of the twenties the social works of Huber Désy, Derkovits and Birman Bokros, the Roman School (Aba-Novák) and the work of the 1930s by artists of Szentendre (Vajda, Ámos, Barcsay, Kmetty).
