József Katona Library, which is covered with Zsolnay ceramic tiles and which was awarded the Pro Architectura prize, is a building adapted for use by handicapped people, in the centre of Kecskemét. The public library meeting European standards is open for individual visitors and groups from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
In the interior halls valuable works of art can be seen, in the non-smoking Library Cafe daily and weekly papers are available.
The library also organizes conferences, lectures, exhibitions, programmes with board in its air-conditioned, well-equipped large hall for 180 persons.
