József Rippl-Rónai, who was the founder of innovative modern painting in Hungary, bought the Roman villa in 1908 and he lived here until his death. In this two-storey villa with six rooms surrounded by a park he painted his colourful, decorative pictures and his typical style with corn was born here. The museum with the original furnishings presents more than 90 works of art providing an insight into all the stages of the artist's career.
