The museum has been awaiting visitors since 1925. The museum housed the first public library of Hungary, the Museum and Library of County Veszprém, which provides a treasure of information for researchers along with the databank and the photo archive. The museum awaits visitors with a renewed foyer and a new permanent exhibition called "Intellect in an object, a place, a picture" from 19 May 2006.
