György Ráth (1829-1905), renowned scholar and art collector, first director of the Museum of Applied Arts bequested his villa and collection to the state. The Ráth Memorial Room is furnished with the original dining suite and presents pieces of the Ráth collection. The other exhibitions are from the collections of the Ferenc Hopp Museum of Eastern Asiatic Arts. 'The Art of Chinese Ceramics' presents the history of 'Chinese ceramics from the antiquity to the 20th c. 'Collecting Oriental Art in Hungary' not only presents the most beautiful Chinese, Indian and Japanese objects, but also commemorates the donators who enriched the collection of the museum.
