Village with about 1,200 inhabitants in the Danube Bend, at the foot or the Börzsöny Mountains. The Catholic church, a unique example of Hungarian church architecture, was built by the plans of Károly Kós and Béla Jánszky from 1908 to 1910. The Calvary chapel is a neo-Classical building with a Baroque pediment. István Szőnyi, an outstanding figure of 20th century Hungarian painting, lived and worked at Zebegény. His house and studio are now a Memorial Museum. The maritime collection of Captain Vince Farkas is also worth visiting. Fine recreation opportunities are offered by the place in all seasons.
