Village with 1,050 inhabitants in the basin between Keszthelyi mountains and Tátika hill, in equal distance from Keszthely and Sümeg. Roman Catholic church first mentioned in records in 1236 is built on a small hill. Romanesque and Gothic elements remained in the building truly reflecting the Hungarian history, furnished in Baroque style. The chapel of Romanesque style decorating the main street of the village was built in 1441 in honour of the Immaculate Conception. An area of 10 ha on Kovácsi hill above the village is called the Park of Human Rights. According to the idea of the government of the village, architectural symbols of people and groups of people in detrimental situation, or the human rights of which are violated, will be erected there. The first edifice of the park, a Buddhistic statue, was built in 1992-93. The Dalai Lama, exiled leader of Tibet was also present at the ceremony of inauguration of the statue.
