in Zalaszabar:

Village with 681 inhabitants on the northwestern shore of Little Balaton. The Roman Catholic church was built from a Romanesque chapel with Gothic and baroque extensions. The holy-water basin on the right was a baptismal font in the age of St. Stephen. There is also a medieval, life-size, wooden crucifix in the church. The original church is now used as a sacristy. A magnificent panorama is offered from the hill full of vineyards (where the famous Szabar wine is made). Little Balaton, with its unique fauna and flora is under the village. The area is part of the Balaton Highland National Park. From the age before the Hungarian Conquest the ruins of the basilica built by the Slavic Prince Pribina are close to the village.
