The settlement is 12 km west of Bonyhád, at the foot of the Mecsek mountain. The Classical building of the Protestant church from 1802 has a ceiling covered with canvas with the pattern of the starry sky. The visitors can get acquainted with the past and culture of the village in the Museum of Folk Art. Following Kossuth street one can reach the forested park in the valley of Farkas brook, which is attached to the Mecsek Nature Conservation Area. There are three ponds in this area, all of them perfectly suitable for fishing. On the nearby Várfő hill the remains of an earthwork were discovered, the oldest parts of which are from 13th c. It offers a beatiful view of the neighbourhood. The annual events of the village are the painted egg fair on Easter Monday and the grape-harvest days at the end of September. |
