The population of the village is 780. The first documented record of the village lying on the banks of the meandering river Túr is from 1181. Zsigmond Móricz attended school here. The Calvinist church was built in Gothic style. The watermill, renewed in 1998, has been operating since the 18th century. The Kende mansion, with special tree species in its park, was built in the 1830s. The wood on the bank of the Túr and the Rókás pasture offer pleasant walks for the visitors.
