A settlement with 2,600 inhabitants on the right bank of the river Tisza, to the west of Tiszalök. It is first mentioned in records in 1222, in the Váradi Regestrum. It is a typical country village. The only historic building is the former Zathureczky mansion, which was built in 1831 in Classicist style. Today it is used as cultural centre. The dead branch near the village offers recreation for the lovers of water sports.
