A large village of 5,382 inhabitants 22 km south of Jászberény. Tápiószele was firts mentioned in the Regestrum of Várad under the name Scela. Several noble families lived here over the course of centuries. The members of the Viczián, Preyer, Káldy, Homonnay, Benediczky and Blaskovich families served as civil servants and high ranking soldiers. The Blaskovich Museum was established based on a family collection. The museum presents the life of the mansions.
