Village with 1,365 inhabitants 9 km south of Boglárlelle. Its name is of Avar origin, Györk means earthwork. The neo-Classical Jankovich mansion is in the centre of the village in a well-kept park. A mausoleum and a chapel can also be seen among the rare plants in the park.There are several hundred years of tradition of viticulture in the surroundigs of the village which got the rank of market town in 1778. Visitors can taste the famous wines of Szőlősgyörök with goulash made in stew-pots in the renewed wine cellars.
