in Szebény:

Village with 507 inhabitants at the brook Csele, between Mohács and Pécsvárad. The 2,500 years old finds from the Bronze Age and the Avar archaeological finds later on both refer to the rich past of village history. The Roman Catholic church was consecrated to the worship of St. István in 1775, and traditions have it that the cherished statue of Virgin Mary was fled to the safeguard of the church at the time of the Mohács catastrophy. In the fields of the village there is a tomentose oak, the largest of its kind in Hungary, estimated to be 450 years old. The House of Regional Traditions showing also the traditional folk costumes of the village is also worth visiting.
