The village is connected to road No. 67 running between Kaposvár and Szigetvár by a short access road. It is situated 8 km south of the county seat in Zselic. The old school was converted into a tourist house. In the Meteor tourist house several programmes are organized every year, e.g. the 4 trees round tour, and it is also an important station of the blue tour. Its territory and its population is small, it has 401 inhabitants. It is situated in a large circular valley, the houses are in a picturesque environment. It was first mentioned in records in 1421. At the end of the 16th century it belonged to the Castle of Szigliget. It was owned by the Somssich family from 1767 to the middle of the 20th century. The most important tourist attraction of the village with an Alpine character is the most developed tourist centre of the county, which can receive the most visitors. Two tourist houses run by the Meteor Tourist Association of Nature-lovers are offered for hikers, national and international hunters all the year round. You can also find the Silver lime Tourist House for 20 persons here run by the local council.
