in Ravazd:   Hotel - Business Travel

This is settlement of 1234 inhabitants in the neighbourhood of Pannonhalma, by road 82, in the Sokoró hills. The Empire church got its present form in 1827, but its origin goes back much further. It is said to be founded in the Middle Ages by St. Villebald from England, whose memory is preserved by the altar painting and the stone cross standing on the edge of the village. The surrounding forests used to belong to the Benedictine monastery in Pannonhalma. In the building of the forestry office from 19th c. there is an exhibition about the forest industry of old times. With a short walk you can get to the Béla-spring, which is believed to have sprung in the mark made by the sword of King Béla IV. when fleeing from the Mongolian troops. The monument at the spring was built in 1792.
