It is accessible from Zirc through Brozavár. Its name of Slavic origin was first mentioned in a document in 1086 as a property of the Benedicite abbey of Bakonybél under the name PURUA (pronounced as PURVA, i.e. Porva) The year 1436 saw an important change in the life of the village. In this year palatine Miklós Gara settled the Paulite order here. Its main sight is the Gothic Roman Catholic church from the 15th century, which was rebuilt in baroque style in the 18th century. You can find a red marble armoried tomb in the church. Excursion spots nearby: Kőris hill and the valley of the rill Hódos with cyclamens.
