A large village with 2,642 inhabitants at the confluence of of Kapos and Sió. The Roman Catholic church is from 1762. The 18th century chapel of St. John of Nepomuk is on the hill full of vineyards. A part of the epos entitled Zalán futása (Zalán's rout) was written by the national poet Mihály Vörösmarty in the former Csehfalvy mansion (1800).
