Large village with 1,124 inhabitants, the gateway of the region called Hegyköz in the Zemplén mountains. The oldest narrow-gauge railway of Hungary starts from this place and runs to Kőkapu. Sights: the cultural centre which houses the Perlite exhibition of minerals (unique in the country), the Museum of Hunting and the Museum of Forestry on the industrial area. Due to its geographical location it is the centre of Hegyköz, from where all the sights are easily accessible. The 18th century Baroque Károlyi mansion was reconstructed in 1857. Its park is protected. The guest-houses and tourist hotel of the village are ideal for recreation. More information in the Cultural Centre.
