Village with 2,229 inhabitants south of Miskolc, on the bank of river Sajó. Ön 13th June 1707, the dethronement of the Hapsburgs and separation from Austria were inarticulated by the diet in Ónod. The medieval fortress was built from the 14th century to the mid-16th century. The former Török mansion is baroque, the Roman Catholic church was built in 1866. The House of Regional Traditions is one of the most beautiful examples of folk architecture in the Sajó valley. Local pottery is exhibited in the house.
