Nagyszakácsi is a mediaeval village. The Hungarian kings donated land to their excellent cooks here, which played an important role in its formation. The descendants still live here and their names refer to their origin: Kövér, Szita, Bárány. In 1993 the inhabitants of the village started to revive the traditions by organizing a series of events called Following in the Royal Cooks' Steps. Since it was first organized twelve years ago, it has become famous in the country and abroad. It has more than ten thousand visitors during the three days. The Cooking Museum and the Open-air Museum of Stoves await visitors, who are served by the royal cooks, if they let them know about the time of the arrival in time. Pictures of Nagyszakácsi |
