This village of 1,126 inhabitants is to the north of Pécs, by road 66, in the gate of Baranya mountain-ridge. It was formed by the union of three villages in 1930. The overall picture of the village with the tidy houses and characteristic barns, was shaped by the German settlers arriving in 18th c. The Roman Catholic church in baroque style is from the same time, too. The parsonage is a protected monument. Next to the village, at the gate of the Sikonda valley the visitors can find riding and hunting facilities. The new Thermal bath of Sikonda and the fishing lakes are easily accessible from the village on foot or by bicycle. |
