A village with 2,100 inhabitants 15 km south of Dunaföldvár. The foundation walls of the Calvinist church date back to the 12th century, the building in its present form was completed by 1806. Memorial park in commemoration of World War II was established in 1990. The picturesque bank of the Danube is an ideal place for visitors seeking refreshment. The former military airport in the outskirts of the village is used by hang-gliders. There is a rich tradition of music and dance in the village. Village Days are held between August 20th and 22nd with a competition of cooking Hungarian fish-soup, sports events and music programs. Öf the notable events in the village the vintage procession and ball, held every September, need to be highlighted. |
