The village of 850 inhabitants is situated at the foothills of the Mátra, 90 km from Budapest, 15 km from Gyöngyös, 35 km from Eger. It is accessible directly from M3 highway. The village has a real rural atmosphere, its traditional cottages and the so-called ”long houses” are locally protected. An outstanding event in the life of the village is the ”Ludas Days”, which is a special combination of a village feast and open-air concerts. The two-day programme attracts many visitors to the village, which is otherwise a small, peaceful settlement.
