The small town 24 km from Debrecen awaits visitors in beautiful environment with equestrian programmes, vineyard barns preserving the relics of folk architecture and with delicious wine. The village has 7,320 inhabitants. János Irinyi, who invented the noiseless match, was born here. The monument abattoir over live water is unique in Hungary. In the main square you can see the statue of Lajos Kossuth, the Saint Stephen ornamental well, King Matthias drinking-fountain and a monument of the victims of World Wars I. and II. In the Irinyi Arboretum you can see 1,200 species of trees and shrubs. The border station is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
