in Kővágószőlős:   Hotel - Sight - Wellness, Spa

Village 15 km west of Pécs at the foothill of the Mecsek Mountains. Besides the interesting rocks above the village, the jubilee cross, Zsongorkő look-out tower and the remains of a monastery and an ancient Roman villa are also worth mentioning. The tower of a 12th c. church is still standing, but the present church was built between 1763-72 in late Baroque style. Its furniture is protected. In the Mine Museum one can see the tools and machines used in the mining of uranium, which was started in the 1950s and will end soon. There is an exhibition about the local history of the village. From the tourist house in the centre there are several signed footpaths leading to the sights of the neighbourhood. The St. Stephen's Day's festivities are on 20th of August, the grape-harvest celebrations in September.
