The village on the south-eastern part of the Mátra Mountains is famous for the ruins of the 15th century castle of Kompoli family. The Castle Museum displays the architecture and folk traditions of the Slovaks who settled here in the 17th century. Owing to its location the surroundings of the village are ideal for hiking, hunting and relaxation. Outstanding events: Vintage Festival, Slovak Ethnic Day, fireworks at Christmas.
