Town with 12,300 inhabitants, 22 kms from the M5 motorway, one of the settlements on the southeastern side of the sand ridge between the Danube and the Tisza. In the Main Square there is the Roman Catholic church built in the early 1800s in Baroque style. Other sights include the György Konecsni Memorial Museum, the House of Regional Traditions.The only museum of the revolution of 1956 and memorial chapel can be found here. The greatest attraction of the town is the thermal bath, which is supplied by a medicinal water spring. Outstanding events: Competition of pony carriage driving and horse jumping on the first weekend of August every summer, Beer-bath festival, Patronal festival on the birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary (on 8th September or the weekend around it), Majsa Day.
