The settlement is situated to the east on the outskirts of Budapest, on road No. 3. It has a significant past, the ferry was first mentioned in records in 1148. The original meaning of the word "kerep" is ship. To the north of the village one part of the Csörsz ditch crossing the Great Plain can still be seen. The Lutheran church was built in 1817 in classicist style. The Roman Catholic church is almost 100 years younger, it is in secessionist style. Beside the cemetery the statue of Saint John of Nepomuk can be found , it is from 1771. The Grassalkovich bailiff's house and the granary are also worth seeing. |
