in Kerecsend:  

Village with 2,200 inhabitants 16 km to the south of Eger on road No. 25. After the Turkish devastation the new inhabitants came from the vicinity of the river Rhine. In their language they have not but in their national costumes they have preserved their origin. The Roman Catholic church was built in the 1960s, because the former church was destroyed in the war. The Berek wood near the village is a natural conservation area; the last traits of the maple and oak woods which used to cover the plain. It is the natural habitat of several protected plants, its oldest trees are more than 250 years old.
