Village with 1,212 inhabitants between the Börzsöny Mountains and the river Ipoly. In the years 1751 to 1793, seat of county Hont. The Baroque building of the one-time county hall (1751) is now a primary school. Medieval Roman Catholic church, rebuilt in 1769. There is a House of Regional Traditions and a ski-lift open for the public.
