The village is situated in the Tapolca basin, along the road running from Várpalota to Bakonyoszlop. The brook Tekeres flows across the village. It was first mentioned in records in 1272. Its sights include St. George hill (basalt organs); Bodóki hill: statue of St. Urban (the patron saint of grapes and wine); the altar-piece of bishop St. Martin from 1828; Sabari church ruins (13th century).
