The village at the Sárvíz is the oldest settlement in Fejér county. It was already inhabited in Saint Stephen's time. Its present name was first mentioned in documents in 1009. Famous sight is the Roman Catholic church from 1787-88 and the Zichy castle in Belmajor. The local collection presents the history of the village, which can be found in the old people's home. The village is part of the Sárvíz Oecological corridor, which represents - due to its flora and avifauna - highly protected natural value and belongs to the Danube-Ipoly National Park. There are a lot of lakes (7 natural and 3 artificial) in the surroundings, which are ideal for fishing. Kálóz is famous for the Kálóz Cup Jumping Derby and Carriage Driving competition which will be organized for the the fifth time this year. Each year it is held on the second weekend of August. To enter for the competition is possible on the spot. The foundation of a local riding association is in process. Popular event of the region is the Káloz Wine Competition, which will be held for the eighth time this year (the last Saturday of April). To facilitate wine tourism an association of the friends of wine has been founded. There is a posssibility for hunting in the nearby forests and fields. A hunting association has also been founded. A modern sports hall has been built in the village. A cycling path is to be built through the village which will connect Székesfehérvár and Simontornya along the Sárvíz. The community house with Internet connection and the Village television contribute to the cultural life of Káloz. Sister village of Káloz is Kárásztelek in Transylvania. Tourists can get information about accommodation and dining at the mayor' s office.
