The settlement is situated to the south of Budapest, in the valley of Galga, by now it has been built together with Aszód. After the Turks had been expelled, Germans settled down, most of the inhabitants are German-speaking even today. The Lutheran church was built in the early classicist style in 1834 According to Antal HaulitsŚ plans. The village museum and the ethnographic collection can be seen in one of the old houses of Szabadság street.
