A village with 1,858 inhabitants 6 km south of Sárvár. The originally baroque Batthyány mansion was rebuilt in romantic style by Mikós Ybl and Ágoston Pollack in 1847. Count Lajos Batthyány, Prime Minister of the 1848 Government of Hungary, martyred in 1849, was brought up here.
