in Hidegkút:   Hotel

Village with 410 inhabitants in a picturesque valley of Lake Balaton Highlands, accessible on road from Balatonfüred through Balatonszőlős and Tótvázsony. The village lies in a valley between the limestone cubes of Recsek hill (431 m) and Nagy-Gella hill (416 m). The cold karst well, retained ind name of the village had a major role in the origin of the place. The village was deserted by the end of the Middle Ages and repopulated by the Esterházys at the beginning of the 19th century. There are pleasant walks to the heart of the Lake Balaton Highlands. The Gáspár Noszlopy lookout tower on Recsek hill, offering a wide panorama to the eastern basin of Lake Balaton and Tihany, is accessibble on the green route sign. Ascending along the red route sign Koloska valley surrounded with rocks can be reached where the built up excursion centre has become a popular resting-place.
