in Gánt:   Hotel - Sight - Travel Service

It is a small village of German nationality in the territory of Vértes Nature Park, about 24 km from Székesfehérvár.
It was first mentioned in a document by King Béla III in 1193. Its development was due to its bauxit mine, which used to be the largest one in Europe. It was opened in 1926 and closed in 1988.
The relics of mining are preserved in the mining museum, the geodesical park and the study path. At present it is one of the most important tourism centres of the Vértes hills along with Vérteskozma and Kőhányáspuszta, which belong to the village administratively. Tended tourist routes, high standard inns, tourist accommodation and the hunting house await visitors. Here you can find the only resort hotel of Hungary which is specialized in receiving handicapped people.
Outstanding programmes of the village include the Swabian ball in January, the Maypole festival at Whitsun in May, the Village day in September, when a horse show-jumping competition is held.
