Village with 2,000 inhabitants 8 km from Aszód on the river Galga. The southwestmost settlement of the Palots (a Hungarian nationality) where the old tales and songs remained in unchanged form; centre of the ornamental folk art. Famous inhabitant of the village was Juli Dudás Vankó (1919-1984), "Master of Folk Art". Her one-time living-house can be recognized easily of the extraordinary wall.
