The village is situated in the picturesque Tárkányi-basin, at the foot of the Bükk hills, in a territory of 7734,6 ha in the north-east of county Heves, 3 km from Eger. The village is surrounded by the range of the Bükk hills like a wreath, the highest peaks of which frame the Bükk plateau in the south. 90% of its outer territory is covered with forests. Most of its territory belongs to the Bükk National Park, which is extremely rich in plant species and communities. The village provides opportunities for both organized and individual tourism.
