Village with 1,190 inhabitants on the south border-line of the National Park of Bükk, 20 km north of Mezőkövesd. The name of the settlement was first mentioned in a royal document in 1248. Typical village of Bükkalja with a wonderful view, traditional village image, nice houses, wine cellars, rows of cellars and very clear air. Horseshoe-shaped rocky formation providing a surprising outlook on the hill Hódos at the northwestern edge of the village. Other sights include the monument Roman Catholic church of Louis XVI style (1779), the Calvinist church (1828), the Baptist oratory (1915) and Ódorvár with a nice view to the chain of Bükk Mountains.
