Large village to the north of the capital, on the right bank of the river Danube, on road No. 11, on an area which has been inhabited since the Bronze Age. The bases of the Roman watch-towers can still be seen. After the Turkish devastation Serbs and then German people settled down here. The Serb orthodox church is from the 1750s. The Roman Catholic church was consecrated in 1907. Popular excursion places are Nagy-Kevély, Kevély-nyereg and Mackóbarlang (Bear's cave). In the vicinity of the settlement you can find the Omszk and Lupasziget lakes. |
