Village with about 1,000 inhabitants west of Budapest. Its name originates from the tribal name 'Jenő' from the age of the Conquest. The cemetery chapel, St. Michael chapel, is one of the oldest churches in Hungary, with a semi-circular chancel from the 11th century. The stone carvings over the sacristry door, probably picturing the founders, are from the 12th century. There are a Louis XVI style main altar with statues and a 17th century Italian side-altar in the baroque Roman Catholic church (1756) of the village. |
