It is a settlement of 3.700 inhabitants by road 5, 23 km north of Szeged. Its Roman Catholic church was built in 1903 in honour of St. Anthony of Padua. There is a road connecting the village with Ópusztaszer, which is 8 km from here. The nearby Őszeszéki pond is perfect for fishing due to its rich carp population. The soil of the region is sodic, so in spring one can enjoy the impressive sight of the hundreds of protected irises. The village has riding and hunting facilities, too.
