Village with 1,330 inhabitants in the northern part of Zala county, on the left bank of river Zala on road No. 76. It was first mentioned in documents as Wythenyed in 1247. The 13th century late Romanesque circular chapel can be found in the Vitenyédszentpál part of the village. The ruin church was restored to its original form in the year of the Millennium.
