in Ártánd:  

Village with 574 inhabitants at road No. 42, a frontier crossing by road to Romania. The neoclassical Calvinist curch, a historic monument, was built in 1822. The former Hodossy mansion, a 19th century building, is now a kindergarten. In August, 1849 it was the a general headquarters, where Russian General Rüdiger held negotiations with Hungarian General Ernő Pöltenberg over the surrender of the Hungarian army. There is a memorial tablet to commemorate the event. The largest gravel pit of Eastern Hungary is next to the village. The mine lake in the vicinity can be used as an open-air bath and it is the venue of an international youth meeting in July.
