Art historian Ervin Ybl (1890-1965) bequeathed his family and art collection to the St. Stephen Museum. Based on his collection a permanent exhibition was opened in 1969.
The exhibition presents the works of art from the period of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries until 1940s, mainly by masters of the Great Plain and by the representatives of postimpresssionism from 1930s, as well as the bequest of the Ybl family: furniture, works of applied art, interiors.
